Lifestyle Design: Success is Always Planned

Hey! 👋

This week I want to talk about lifestyle design:

  • It should be comprehensive to cover major areas
  • It should be systematic to make sure nothing’s missed
  • It should be progressive to challenge you and promote growth

The reason is a vast majority of the population doesn’t take the time to sit down, define, and refine their ideal future. But once you understand lifestyle design, then you can elevate your thoughts, improve your body’s health, and attract way more opportunities.

Your habits today will determine your future

Let’s dive in!

In order to upgrade yourself, you first need to make sure you don’t make a few of the most common mistakes:

  1. Chasing Someone Else’s Dream:
Don’t fall into the trap of pursuing goals and lifestyles based on societal expectations or external validation. Identify your true passions and values, and build your lifestyle around those core beliefs. You only get one shot at life.
  2. Ignoring the Importance of Balance:
Neglecting important aspects, such as health, relationships, or personal development in pursuit of success, can lead to burnout and dissatisfaction. Prioritize balance across all areas of life to nurture your overall well-being and avoid feeling unfulfilled despite outward success. Strive to be a well-rounded person.
  3. Over-complicating Instead of Simplifying:
Avoid over-complicating your journey with unnecessary complexity in goals, systems, or technology. Embrace simplicity by focusing on what truly matters and eliminating clutter, both physical and mental, to achieve greater clarity and peace of mind in your lifestyle design. Decrease variables to increase your output.

The reason people make these mistakes is because they adopt the lifestyle that’s given to them by their parents, teachers, and coaches. And as a result, they keep themselves stuck in a dead-end job with little to no fulfillment while they accumulate junk.

Here’s how to fix it:

Step 1) Create Specific Goals

The very first step to designing your ideal future is defining it.

Being honest with yourself takes time and determination.

Most people would rather go with the flow than follow the narrow path.

Instead, try to define what success means to you.

For example, my purpose is to create the person I admire, and give that person to the world.

Goals give you a purpose and direction.

Step 2) Build Repeatable Systems

The next step to designing your ideal future is having a roadmap.

After you have goals, you need to figure out the best way to accomplish them.

Most people don’t have a plan.

Instead, schedule your day around the most important activities.

For example, I’ll list the top 3-5 High-Value Tasks the night before.

Having repeatable systems puts the odds in your favor.

Step 3) Maintain Steady Consistency

And finally, the last step to designing your ideal future is showing up every day.

Every great thing in life is hard to get.

Most people will get excited at first and then quit after a few weeks or months.

Instead, have a long-term vision that will fuel you during the hard times.

For example, I write and track everything in a notebook.

Stacking wins requires you to put the reps in.

That’s it!
